Michael, Sara, and I have partnered together to bring you these farmhouse desk plans, so that you too can recreate this office desk to spice up your home office. So lets get to it!

Materials List

7 – 2x4s @ 8ft

1 – 2x2 @ 8ft

5 – 1x6 @ 6ft

1 – ¾” plywood (2x4)

Step 1: Attach the 2x4 legs (31.25") to the 2x4 (19") stretchers using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. Repeat step for the other side of the office desk.

Step 2: Attach the 2x4 X pieces using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue.. For best fit, measure the 2x4 to your assembled square. The longer X piece should be cut at 30 degrees and the two smaller X pieces should be cut at 30 degrees on the outside and 60 degrees on the sides attached to the slanted 2x4.

Step 3: Assemble the middle leg by attaching the 2x4 legs (31.25") to the one 2x4 (19") stretcher using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue.

Step 4: Attach the left assembled leg with the middle assembled leg by attaching the (43 ½”) 2x4 stretcher using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. The stretcher should be placed 3” from the bottom of the two legs. Note: Predrill pocket holes upwards on the top stretcher for later attachment of the office desk top.

Step 5: Attach the (43 ½”) 2x4 front stretcher to the assembled desk using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. Stretcher should be inset .5" Note: Predrill pocket holes upwards on the stretcher for later attachment of the desk top.

Step 6: Attach the 2x4 V braces to the back of the office desk using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. Measure the wood up against the office desk, make your markings and cut as needed.

Step 7: Attach the  2 (19”) 2x2 stretcher pieces using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue to the middle assembled leg. The bottom stretcher will be placed 5" from the ground and the top stretcher will be placed 11.5" from the top.

Step 8:  Attach the right assembled leg to the desk by attaching the 2 (17”) 2x4 stretcher pieces using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. The front stretcher should be inset .5" Note: Predrill pocket holes upwards on the stretcher pieces for later attachment of the desk top.

Step 9: Attach the two bottom (17”) 2x4 stretchers to the side of the desk using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. Note: The stretchers should be placed 3" from the bottom. The front stretcher should be inset .5"

Step 10: Attach the middle (17”) 2x2 stretchers to the bottom of the right hand side of the desk using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 1 1/2" setting, with 2 1/2" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. The front stretcher should be inset .5"

Step 11: Attach the plywood pieces to the desk using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 3/4" setting, with 1 1/4" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue. Note: Be sure to measure distance before making cuts for best fit.

Step 12: Assemble the table top using a Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on a 3/4” setting, with 1 1/4" pocket hole screws to attach along with wood glue.

Step 13: Attach the table top to the office desk base using the pre-drilled pocket holes.
